This was my first trip out of the country funded from my own pocket. Although my stay had been somewhat subsidized by my friends in Singapore.
One week and it was a real holiday treat : ) Got loads of pictures (inspite of an occurrence of a corrupted memory card). Still the best part is creating memories with good friends.

kyoto adventures
Japan's capital from 794 to 1868, approximately 500 km from Tokyo
Second time in Kyoto but this time no side trips or detours! And as I could be superstitious sometimes, I did not want to have another reason to desire to go back to Kyoto as it would mean staying in Japan longer. Fortunately, we had a chance to see geisha, had a fill of temples and boy, an overload of sakura (there's actually this 2 km path full of blooming sakura!), all in a day's tour. Got surprised even by the Kyoto station structure. We had countless times of bidding Kyoto station goodbye, but only minutes before we board the "final" train on our way home that we took those escalators just outside the station gates. We didnt realize looking from the ground that those escalators would bring people up to the top story of the 10-floor building.
Ours was not the most comfortable ride too as we were not able to get reserved seats, I had to sleep on the floor train aboard the moonlight nagara. And steal sleep I had to do as we had to go to Kamogawa sea world after kyoto....We're not superhumans! Adik lang :)
KYOTO TEMPLES

KYOTO GEISHA AND SAKURA
In addition to temples classified as World Heritage, sakura and geisha symbolize Kyoto.
